Job summary

Whitehorse General Hospital in Whitehorse, Yukon, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit on a Casual as Required basis. The role provides nursing care for critically ill patients through assessment, monitoring, and implementation of medical and supportive therapies.

The successful candidate will hold a Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing, be registered or eligible for registration with YRNA, and have current CPR. ACLS is an asset.

Qualifications

• For nursing practice, candidates must have a Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing and be eligible for Yukon RN registration.
• Current CPR certification is required; ACLS is considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing care and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for ICU patients, including assessment, monitoring and implementing treatment plans.

This position is at the L09 level with an hourly pay range of $49.73 - $66.42

As a multidisciplinary team member, the incumbent provides nursing care for patients through the administration and implementation of medical investigation and therapeutic programs through the application of knowledge of general nursing, physical health, and psycho-social well-being; provides organization, direction, supervision and collaboration in the planning and implementation of nursing best practices.

Certification in A.C.L.S. and Critical Care nursing would be considered an asset for this position.
