Job summary

Halton Healthcare in Oakville, Ontario, is hiring for critical care nursing on a temporary full-time basis. You will care for critically ill medical, surgical and respiratory patients, perform delegated medical acts and may assume charge nurse duties on shift.

Applicants must hold current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and possess BLS, ACLS and critical care certification. The role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong leadership and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Current registration with nursing regulator in Ontario is required.
• BLS, ACLS certifications must be current on hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Certification is required.
• 1 year of critical care experience is preferred.
• Strong ability to interpret arrhythmias and 12-lead ECGs.
• Proficiency with monitors, pumps, phlebotomy and invasive monitoring equipment.
• Excellent decision making, problem solving and documentation skills.
• Able to work under stress and lead a shift when needed.

Responsibilities

• Care for critical medical, surgical and respiratory patients on a rotating schedule.

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire.
