Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse to join our Home Health team at Nicola Valley Health Centre in Merritt, BC. The position is a full-time relief opportunity until March 31, 2027, with shifts scheduled from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30 hours.

The ideal candidate will have a background in nursing, be registered with BCCNM, and possess a valid B.C. driver's license. We offer a range of benefits, including health coverage and pension plans.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a nursing school and current registration with BCCNM are required.
  • A valid B.C. driver's license is needed, and use of a personal vehicle may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, coordinate, and implement nursing care for clients.
  • Develop and adapt care plans, providing direct care and care management.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to enhance client quality of life.
  • Participate in committees and approved research projects.

Education

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Valid B.C. driver's license

About the Job
  • Supports the client’s achievement of safe, realistic, and reasonable goals by assessing, planning, coordinating, organizing, implementing, evaluating and transitioning nursing and other care services for the client
  • Develops, implements and adapts a care plan, delivers direct care, assesses service eligibility and provides care management to help clients manage their own care and navigate through the various services available within the community setting
  • Enhances quality of life for the client and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
  • Maintains and advances own clinical competence
  • Participates on designated committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned

This is a Relief Full Time (1.0) opportunity until March 31, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.
