Job summary

A local health center is seeking a Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating and providing care according to the current Standards of Practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and assessment skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. This position requires CPR certification and preferred experience in triage and intravenous care, with a salary range of $39.07 – $56.00 in accordance with the ONA Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, non-judgmental manner, team player.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize based on acuity.
  • Exceptional crisis intervention skills including de-escalation techniques.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to and relief for all areas as required.
  • Perform triage, collect information, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Work the present 12-hour shift rotation.

Education

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Minimum one year experience preferred
Current Basic CPR certificate (BLS)
ACLS/PALS/NALS/TNCC course and/or status preferred
Triage/CTAS course preferred
Intravenous/venipuncture skills/certification

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is seeking a Registered Nurse responsible to coordinate, assess, plan, provide interventions and evaluate care, utilizing the current Standards of Practice (College of Nurses of Ontario), in accordance with the Hospital policy, Ministry and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.

Qualifications
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic CPR certificate (BLS) required.
  • Minimum one year experience preferred.
  • ACLS/PALS/NALS/TNCC course and/or status preferred.
  • Triage/CTAS course preferred.
  • EKG/Dysrhythmia interpretation course/skill an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, non-judgmental manner, team player.

  • Provide culturally competent and respectful care in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Must adhere to organizational policies and procedures concerning cleaning, hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment in support of Infection Control measures and attend training when necessary.

$39.07 – $56.00, in accordance with the ONA Collective Agreement
