Reporting to the Clinical Managers this unique position will provide the Nurse with a role in both the Emergency Department as well as the Critical Care Unit. Our ED is most often the first point of contact for our patients; it is a fast paced highly acute environment led by a well-rounded multidisciplinary team of ER physicians Physician Assistants RNs and RPNs. The ED is also home to our dedicated Mental Health Triage team and our See and Treat Clinic. The Critical Care Unit is an intensivist-lead closed model with a dedicated Respiratory Therapy Team. Our CCU nurses actively support our physician-lead Critical Care Response Team throughout the hospital and have opportunities for involvement in research projects and continuing education. The ED / CCU Resource team nurse will be fully trained in both areas with the opportunity to float between the units as patient volumes and care needs change. The RN will be responsible for providing evidence-based comprehensive safe effective and ethical nursing care to all patients in the Critical Care and Emergency Departments.
