Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking an experienced RN for primary care of Level III critical care patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires Ontario RN registration, BCLS, and a strong background in critical care, with ongoing commitment to education and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BCLS certificate.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
• Three years of current Level 2 or 3 critical care experience required.
• Completion of a recognized Critical Care Course.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education within the past two years with emphasis on critical care nursing.
• Commitment to organizational initiatives: Patient-Focused Care Course, nursing council, unit committees, quality improvement.
• Demonstrated effective ability in interpersonal relationships, communication, organization, priority setting, problem solving, decision making, teamwork, conflict resolution.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to patient care.
• Ability to handle stressful environments positively.
• Ability to function independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsible for the primary care of Level III medical-surgical critical care patients. The RN will work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide care for patients and their families in a patient focused environment. The RN’s practice will be consistent with the College of Nurses standards, Sunnybrook Nursing Practice standards and the mission and values of Sunnybrook.

Qualifications/Skills

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;

• Current BCLS certificate;

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred;
