Position Summary

The Critical Care Unit operates under an intensivist-led, closed model with a dedicated Respiratory Therapy Team. Our CCU nurses support the RN-led Critical Care Response Team and have opportunities for research and education. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Critical Care, the nurse will provide safe, effective, and ethical care to clients requiring Critical Care Services.

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum 1 year of current Critical Care experience
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certifications
  • Critical Care Certificate Program completed or in progress
  • Ability to work in a Critical Care Response Team is preferred
Mandatory Competencies
  • Ability to work within a Total Patient Care system adhering to standards
  • Critical thinking and patient-centered approach
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment
  • Competence in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and emergency interventions
  • Technical skills including airway management, equipment use, and invasive procedures
  • Reliability and flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to ongoing education and teamwork
