Job summary

New Vista Society in Burnaby, BC, is seeking a Registered Nurse for casual evening and night shifts. Join a care team to assess, plan, implement and monitor residents’ safety, delivering individualized care including medication administration and routine assessments.

Responsibilities include maintaining nursing records, coordinating with physicians and family, and contributing to the Resident Care Plan. Must hold current RN registration in BC and have strong communication and leadership skills,

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years' nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric setting and long term care experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability, as a team leader, to direct the activities of non-professional staff and co-ordinate activities of the health care team.
• Physically able to carry out the duties of the position including transferring of residents, walking, stooping and standing.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduation from a recognized nursing program
• Current practicing registration with the Registered Nurses Association of British Columbia or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of British Columbia.
• Minimum two (2) years' nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric setting and long term care experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability, as a team leader, to direct the activities of non-professional staff and co-ordinate activities of the health care team.
