Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to lead primary care for trauma patients. Responsibilities include assessment, intervention, education and patient advocacy, aligned with the Philosophy of Person Centred Care and the Centre's Mission and Values.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, provide pre-op and post-op teaching, and support patients and families through complex care pathways.

Qualifications

  • Current Certificate of Competence [Ontario].
  • Current B.C.L.S.
  • B.Sc.N preferred.
  • Post-Basic Neuro course strongly recommended.
  • Current trauma experience required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment; able to manage multiple demands and changing priorities.
  • Surgical experience with skills in pre-op and post-op care and patient/family teaching.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families and co-workers.
  • Excellent assessment skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Person-Centred Care approaches and principles.
