A regional health authority is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in hospital and community settings. The role requires registration with the BC College of Nurses, recent acute care experience, and effective communication skills. The ideal candidate must also complete an arrhythmia interpretation course. This position emphasizes patient safety and adherence to nursing standards.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reports to the Manager or designate. Plans and provides direct nursing care to patients/residents in the hospital or in the community in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Recent experience in acute medical/surgical nursing, and completion of a basic arrhythmia interpretation course, or an equivalent combination of education, skills and training.
