A healthcare organization in Wainwright, Alberta, is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Labour and Delivery department. The role involves providing comprehensive care to patients and families, utilizing critical nursing processes while ensuring safety and well-being. Candidates must complete an accredited nursing program and hold a valid practice permit. The position offers a part-time schedule with competitive hourly pay ranging from $39.58 to $59.21.
Wainwright is a vibrant & friendly rural community of around 7,000 located in east-central Alberta on highways 14 & 41. The area features attractive neighborhoods, parks, playgrounds, and extensive recreational amenities including the Multiplex with a walking track, climbing wall, pool, weight training facilities, dance studio, meeting rooms & banquet halls. The community offers a variety of schools, health care facilities, and year-round recreational opportunities. The Wainwright Obstetrics Department consists of a four-room Labour and Delivery area. We care for patients during the antepartum, intrapartum & postpartum periods, including patients requiring C-sections. We value high quality, effective, efficient, evidence-based, patient-centered care for all pregnant, laboring, postpartum, newborn & perinatal loss patients. We strive to empower patients & families through education and support during pregnancy and childbirth, while encouraging staff to learn and grow. Primary duties are within labor & delivery, which is part of the general medicine floor at the Wainwright Health Centre. Other related duties include collaboration and assistance with Acute Care & Emergency Units. It is mandatory that all med/surg nurses take the L&D/postpartum education if you don’t already have it.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
