Job summary

Recovery Alberta is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Concurrent Disorders Unit Bryce, based at Centennial Centre MH & Brain Injury.

You will deliver broad nursing care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and advocate for patients with co-occurring mental health and addiction issues.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide wide variety of nursing services focusing on safety and well-being of patients.
• Lead and support integrated holistic patient care and health promotion.
• Teach, counsel and advocate for patients and families.

Job description

The Concurrent Disorders Enhanced Service within the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program at the CCMHBI provides care and treatment for those individuals experiencing a severe mental illness combined with a severe addiction. The RPN/RN on Concurrent Disorders Unit will report directly to a Unit Manager and you will provide a broad range of services primarily focused on supporting clients with a concurrent disorder. The RPN/RN will be working within a client-centered treatment approach and will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team. The RPN/RN will also ensure effective operation of the Unit when assuming designated responsibilities and contribute to the learning experience of students, staff and patients. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Required Qualifications:
