Bayshore HealthCare in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Specialty Pharma Nurse - Registered Nurse to deliver and monitor specialized infusion and injectable therapies in home or clinic settings. The role emphasizes patient safety and collaboration with the supervisor/manager.
Requires BSN, current registration, BLS; ACLS for clinic role; 2 years acute care or specialty pharma experience; strong IV skills and central line experience; compensation is $30–$48 per hour for 20 hours per week.
The Specialty Pharma Nurse - Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Specialty Pharma Supervisor and/or Specialty Pharma Nurse Manager, delivers and monitors specialized supervisor, injectable or oral pharmacological treatments in the home and/or clinic setting. The Specialty Pharma Nurse is responsible for monitoring the patient for adverse related reactions (intervening as required), accurately documenting the procedure, and submitting reporting in a timely manner. The Specialty Pharma Nurse - Registered Nurse is expected to maintain effective communication with the Specialty Pharma Supervisor and/or Specialty Pharma Nurse Manager to ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Specialized pharmacological training will be provided. This career will allow you to develop a specialty in infusion services with opportunities to engage in learning sessions and participate in clinical trials.
