Overview

Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Operations Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care for workers who are injured or become ill at work.

  • Assess the severity of a medical emergency and determine appropriate treatment, including hospital transfer when necessary.

  • Perform pre-employment medical examinations for new hires, following the standardized process implemented across Canadian sites.

  • Manage the site’s medical surveillance program, including audiometry, pulmonary function tests, blood lead level monitoring, and chest x-ray.

  • Collaborate closely with the Wellness & Recovery team to manage WSIB claims.

  • Lead and coordinate health promotions initiatives tailored to mining environment, including seasonal campaigns, wellness challenges, and educational sessions.

  • Maintain a visible presence in the field to build trust, identify emerging health concerns, and provide real-time support to workers.

  • Ensure all medical equipment is inspected, certified and ready for emergency use.

  • Support reporting activities related to the medical field, including medical records, medical surveillance and incident documentation.

  • Provide recommendations and support for corrective actions following to accidents/incidents.

  • Collaborate with HR, Health & Safety and Training team to monitor, participate, assess and consult on safety-related issues.

  • Promote a preventative health environment, ensuring compliance with all policies, legislation and regulations affecting health and medical requirements.

  • Other duties as directed from time to time.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing;

  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

  • 3-4 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

  • Certification in ACLS, ATLS or TNCC Certificate, or equivalent.

  • Experience in acute care settings, such as Emergency Room or Intensive Care Unit.

  • Solid understanding of Ontario’s Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 4/3 schedule (Monday to Thursday) at our Upper Beaver Gold Project in Dobie, ON.

  • Schedule could be modified in the future.
