Responsibilities

• Providing education, health assessments, and continuity-based care.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Prescribing and/or administering medications.
• Performing minor surgical and invasive procedures within scope.
• Delivering comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care for individuals and newborns up to at least eight weeks postpartum.
• Providing preconception care and aspects of reproductive care.
• Promoting physiologic birth and supporting informed choice.
• Admitting and discharging clients in hospital settings.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.
• Contributing to organizational goals outlined in Health PEI’s Business and Strategic Plans.
