Altum Health is seeking an experienced Registered Massage Therapist to support our Oshawa site. The successful individual would have the knowledge, skills and abilities in rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include setting goals and providing treatment plans for clients to initiate appropriate treatment intervention based on clinical assessment. The massage therapist must gauge the condition of the client’s soft tissues, the joint function and quality, range of motion, and muscle strength, and propose a specific treatment plan. The massage therapist will consult with other health care professionals in an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans for clients. The massage therapist is to provide ongoing evaluation of client progress, administer and collect outcome measurement information, participate in quality improvement initiatives, communicate to appropriate referral sources and stakeholders, and educate clients on how to improve posture and teach them strengthening, stretching, and rehabilitative exercises as well as relaxation techniques. Performs cross‑functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested. Works in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies, and contraventions of the Act in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 Year working in an interdisciplinary practice preferred
• Recognized Massage Therapy Degree/Diploma
• Registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario required
• Proof of valid malpractice insurance required
