Full Time Permanent, salaried/hourly.

Responsibilities
  • Provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third‑party organizations to address psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.
  • Adopt a goal-focused, therapeutic approach for alleviating distress and improving social and occupational functioning.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients’ treatment plan and goals, the progress made to date, and any barriers to treatment.
  • Delivery quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Licensing
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists as a Registered Counselling Therapist or
  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers as an MSW clinical specialist
  • Minimum Master’s Degree in a counselling-related field such as Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work
Experience
  • Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
  • Have clinical knowledge in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
  • Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome an asset.
  • Training and experience with cognitive behavioural therapy approaches (e.g., CBT, ACT, CPT).
  • Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience preparing assessment, progress and discharge reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, solid judgement, and integrity.
