Job summary

Preferred Auto & Fleet Service in Thunder Bay is seeking a Registered Automotive Service Technician Apprentice who is actively working toward a 310S license. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians, perform oil changes, brake and suspension work, and gain hands-on experience across many makes and models.

We offer $30-$35 per billable hour with a three‑month guaranteed income, a full-time schedule Monday to Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with overtime, dental and vision coverage, extended

Qualifications

• Currently registered as an Automotive Service Technician apprentice and actively working toward a 310S license.
• Previous hands‑on experience in an automotive repair shop.
• Valid driver's license.
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship and becoming a licensed technician.
• Basic understanding of automotive maintenance and repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced technicians performing maintenance and repair on a wide range of vehicles.
• Complete oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, inspections and diagnostic tasks.
• Accurately document completed work and communicate repair findings to the team.

BUILD YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH US

As our Registered Automotive Service Technician Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced technicians while performing vehicle maintenance and repair services on a wide variety of makes and models. You'll complete oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, inspections, and diagnostic tasks while continuing to develop your technical abilities and accumulate apprenticeship hours. You'll accurately document completed work, communicate repair findings with the team, and help maintain the quality standards that have earned our shop an outstanding reputation.

Here’s what we need from you:

• Currently registered as an Automotive Service Technician apprentice and actively working toward a 310S license
• Previous hands‑on experience in an automotive repair shop

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a higher apprenticeship level or a significant number of registered apprenticeship hours

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work productively under the direction of licensed technicians
• Demonstrated commitment to completing the 310S apprenticeship
