The Position

The Regional Surveillance Manager - GVRD provides support to the Corporate Surveillance, Compliance and AML teams with the planning and execution of surveillance and compliance functions across Gatewayu2019s sites in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. This individual will play an integral role in planning and executing key divisional initiatives including but not limited to; daily surveillance operations, budgetary and employee relations support, writing and editing of department manuals and conducting key compliance and AML related audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports Surveillance, Compliance and AML teams within the GVRD.
  • Coordinates and implements site and corporate related initiatives and communications.
  • Provides operational and regulatory interpretations related to Acts, contractual obligations, legislation, manuals and regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Monitors and provides feedback related to Surveillance teamu2019s budgetary and operational key performance indicators.
  • Reviews and evaluates the accuracy, consistency and proficiency of surveillance, compliance and AML related reports while promoting effective controls.
  • Participates on projects, committees, etc. to ensure surveillance, compliance and regulatory requirements are met (ie. future developments, etc.).
  • Liaises with gaming regulators, BCLC, and operational management (as applicable).
  • Performs other related and compatible duties as assigned.
  • Trains and develops Surveillance Managers at GVRD sites.
  • Takes on additional duties as required.
What You Bring
  • 5-7 years of casino industry experience specific to surveillance, compliance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Post secondary degree or diploma with emphasis in law, business or related.
  • Experience with modern CCTV surveillance capabilities and functions, specific experience with Avigilon, Honeywell, Synectics preferred.
  • Individual must possess and maintain a valid British Columbia driveru2019s license.
  • Individual must have or be eligible for a Senior Employee license with GPEB.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to use and understand Microsoft Office Applications (Project, Excel, Words, Visio, etc.) email, internet navigation and presentation software (PowerPoint or other software).
  • Ability to understand, interpret and analyze investigations related to all casino operations.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks.
  • Demonstrated integrity in the conduct of audits and protect the confidentiality of privileged information.
