Job summary

Convoy Supply Ltd. is seeking a Regional Purchaser to support multiple Ontario locations, forecasting product needs, purchasing, reservations, and new product lines. The role will be based at a Rexdale, Etobicoke location with flexible Ontario-wide base.

The position emphasizes collaboration with Branch Managers and the home office, inventory control proficiency, and the ability to manage PO activity, transfers, and cycle counts while ensuring timely paperwork and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills including a high proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office and Divalto.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication; French is desired but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Branch Managers and Home Office inventory control team.
• Analyse stock movement for the Region and determine whether to order on a PO or transfer from another location.
• Ensure inventory levels are optimized and inventory turns are maintained.
• Review open POs weekly and address outstanding POs.
• Assist Branch Managers in inventory counts and reconciliation.
• Plan, execute and reconcile cycle counts for Region locations.
• Resolve any negative items in a timely fashion.
• Ensure inventory paperwork is completed and scanned to contacts.
• Support and train branches to prevent common inventory errors.

Position Summary

The Regional Purchaser assists Branch Managers in forecasting products needed, buys, product bookings and new product lines. They maintain accurate and appropriate inventory levels by managing through accurate reporting, ordering, and transferring. This position will be based out of our Rexdale branch located at 180 Bethridge Road, Etobicoke, ON.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Branch Mangers and Home Office’s inventory control team
• Analyse stock movement for the Region and determine whether to order on a Purchase Order (PO) or to transfer from another location
• Ensure efficiencies are achieved through adequate inventory levels, keeping in mind inventory turns
• Review all open PO's weekly and scrutinise any outstanding PO's
• Assist Branch Managers in preparation work for partial and full inventory counts
• Participate in the inventory counts and assist in the reconciliation process
• Plan, execute and reconcile the cycle counts for the Region locations in a timely fashion
• Ensure all "negative" items are resolved in a timely fashion
• Ensure all inventory related paperwork is completed on time and scanned to the appropriate contacts
• Ensure stock rotation and keep track of products expiry dates when necessary
• Support and train the respective branches to ensure that common inventory errors are prevented

Requirements

• Demonstrate the core values of collaboration, teamwork, fiscal responsibility and initiative
• Work closely with the Region’s Branch Managers and with the corporate team at home office
• Strong computer skills including a high proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office and Divalto
• Attention to detail, must have the ability to follow up on multiple tasks
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, French is desired but not mandatory
• Experience with Convoy’s products, policies and customers is an asset
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Three years experience working in a construction or building materials environment is an asset
