Job summary

Alcoa is seeking a Senior Regional Mechanical Project Engineering Specialist to act as the technical authority for capital projects across multiple sites. You will guide project managers, site teams, and external partners from early definition through phase-gate readiness, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance within a complex, multi-site program.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive experience in industrial projects, and bilingual communication in French and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for membership.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in engineering, industrial project management, or capital projects.
• Functional bilingualism (French and English) required due to interactions with partners, clients, or colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical reference for project managers on mechanical and integration-related matters.
• Define and validate project boundaries, design criteria, and deliverables across FEL phases.
• Participate in project reviews, design reviews, audits, and phase-gate decisions.
• Challenge solutions, cost estimates, schedules, and supplier proposals to ensure safe, robust outcomes.
• Validate technical documentation, tenders, specifications, and execution plans to minimize risks and rework.
