Human Resources Manager - Québec & Eastern Ontario

Location : Remote with travel across Québec & Eastern Ontario

Full-Time | Bilingual (French / English)

First Student is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Human Resources Manager to support our operations across Québec and Eastern Ontario. This role is ideal for an HR professional with strong union experience, a passion for employee engagement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as a strategic HR partner to regional leadership and field operations.
  • Lead initiatives in labor relations, dispute resolution, policy compliance, and leadership development.
  • Maintain strong employee and labor relations through regular site visits and communication.
  • Conduct investigations and provide coaching on fair and consistent handling of workplace matters.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel on grievance handling and union-related issues.
  • Support recruiting efforts, especially during new business acquisitions.
  • Deliver training programs on performance management, employment law, and employee relations.
  • Drive employee engagement and action planning across the region.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws.
What We're Looking For
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong union experience and knowledge of grievance processes.
  • Proven ability to build trust and foster engagement across diverse teams.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Québec and Eastern Ontario.
