Job Responsibilities
  • R service technician performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC‑R) systems for residential, commercial and industrial properties.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that HVAC‑R systems operate safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Service, repair and install HVAC‑R systems and components, including compressors, condensers, and other equipment.
  • Perform regular maintenance on HVAC‑R systems, including changing filters, lubricating moving parts and checking electrical connections to ensure proper performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance and performance issues with HVAC‑R systems and recommend appropriate repair and replacement solutions.
  • Perform repair work on HVAC‑R systems, including replacing worn or broken parts, repairing refrigerant leaks, and adjusting system controls.
  • Monitor and test HVAC‑R systems to ensure that they operate efficiently and meet safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance, repairs and installation work carried out on HVAC‑R systems.
  • Participate in regular training and development programs to stay up-to‑date with industry innovations and changes.
Requirements
  • Red seal Refrigeration Mechanic Journeyman certification or 3 plus year Refrigeration Mechanic Apprentice certification.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC‑R technician, with a minimum of 3 years work experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC‑R systems, particularly in service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Ability to work with electrical and refrigeration systems.
  • Good communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Must possess a valid driving license.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, as needed.
