Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Refrigeration/HVAC Technician for our Facilities Services team in Cold Lake, AB. You will perform reactive and preventative maintenance on HVACR systems, install and repair equipment, and support safety and code compliance on a major Alberta project.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in refrigeration/air conditioning, a Journeyman Refrigeration Certificate, and a valid Arena Level 2 Operator Certificate; a Class 5 driver’s license and Reliability Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• You have 3-5 years relevant experience in refrigeration/air conditioning maintenance.
• You have a Journeyman Refrigeration Certificate, licensed in accordance HRAI.
• Valid Arena Level 2 Operator Certificate is preferred but if not, it would be provided by employer.
• Strong computer skills for diagnosis and reference.
• Effective collaborator who works well independently and in a team.
• Must possess a Class 5 driver's license.
• You have Reliability Clearance or are eligible to obtain it.
• Position is located in Cold Lake, AB.

You as a Refrigeration/HVAC Technician in Cold Lake will:

• Be responsible for reactive and preventative maintenance on the Refrigeration/HVAC (HVACR) systems

Coordinates with assigned foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing work orders efficiently.

Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.

Inspect HVACR systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, refrigeration plants, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive or corrective maintenance.

Install heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.

Repair heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment.

Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

Operate a handheld device and maintenance software for performing and recording work requests

Comply with, and provides input to, the Health & Safety program

Comply with the Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct policies

Participate in rotating on-call periods, such as responding to emergencies, handling after-hours issues, or covering shifts.
