Join Our Team! – Full‑Time Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (HVAC/R)

Are you a skilled HVAC professional looking to make a difference in your community?

The School District is looking for a dedicated Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic to help keep our schools and facilities safe, healthy, and comfortable for students and staff.

In this role, you will work with a supportive team to maintain and improve our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across the district. Your expertise will help ensure our buildings run efficiently year‑round.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, repair, install, and maintain a variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and components.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain boilers, rooftop ventilation units, forced air systems, cooling plants, and related equipment.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic and electronic controls, thermostats, and DDC (Direct Digital Control) systems.
  • Perform pipefitting duties associated with heating and cooling system maintenance and installations.
  • Utilize computer software to program, monitor, and schedule automated heating and ventilation systems.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and district standards.
Required Qualifications And Experience
  • High school graduation or the equivalent.
  • Valid BC or Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement as Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (HVAC/R).
  • Valid BC Class B Certificate of Qualification with a Red Seal endorsement issued by Skilled Trades BC and/or a Certificate of Qualification issued by Technical Safety BC.
  • Two years of work experience in HVAC service as a Red Seal Journeyperson.
  • Physical capability to perform the job duties.

This position requires a self‑motivated individual who can organize daily tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team. They are also skilled and careful in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment common to the trade, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.

This full‑time position pays $38.78 per hour with a comprehensive benefit package that includes dental, extended health, pension, paid sick time, paid vacation time, and other incentives.
