Job summary

SARCAN Recycling is seeking a Recycling Technician in La Ronge to join our team. You will greet customers, answer questions about accepted materials, and record container deposits. You will sort, count, and prepare containers for transport, keep the depot tidy, and perform physical work and standing tasks as needed.

We value reliability, teamwork, and courteous service. A criminal record check is required; basic computer skills and the ability to follow directions are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and numeracy skills.
• Basic computer skills; use of email is required.
• Ability to count and record containers and follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Be dependable and a team-player.
• Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and field general inquiries about materials, deposits and container sizes.
• Count containers and record orders for deposit refunds.
• Prepare containers for transport, including sorting, crushing and loading onto trailers.
• Perform general cleaning and upkeep of the depot building and yard.
• Perform physical work, repetitive tasks and standing for long periods.
• Operate the point-of-sale system, if needed.

Each and every SARCAN team member is an important part of our team and our community. As a Recycling Technician you will be responsible for:

To be successful as a Recycling Technician at SARCAN, you will need:

• Ability to follow instructions and ensure tasks are completed in appropriate sequence
• Ability to communicate with customers and answer questions in a courteous and professional manner
