General Purpose

The College of Biological Science (CBS) is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven professional to join our team as the Recruitment, Experiential Learning & Strategic Partnerships Officer. This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing CBS’ reputation as a first-choice destination for biology education in Ontario. You’ll support students from recruitment through to career readiness, while cultivating and alumni connections and expanding experiential learning opportunities. You’ll be part of a collaborative, student-focused team committed to innovation, inclusion, and excellence in biological science education. Your work will directly impact the career readiness and success of over 5,000 students.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver co-curricular and curricular experiential learning opportunities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with employers, alumni, and community organizations.
  • Administer and refine a non-credit Career Readiness Resource course.
  • Facilitate workshops on professionalism, teamwork, and career planning.
  • Support Program Advisory Committees to ensure curriculum relevance and responsiveness.
  • Coordinate and implement recruitment events and outreach programs.
  • Develop marketing materials and student/alumni profiles to promote CBS programs.
  • Support international recruitment strategies and liaise with campus partners.
  • Represent CBS at tours, open houses, and high school outreach events.
Administrative & Event Support
  • Update CBS web content related to marketing and experiential learning.
  • Plan and manage logistics for recruitment career development events.
  • Participate in campus committees and maintain professional development.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in science, communications, marketing, or a related field. Additional certification in adult learning, online learning, or career development is an asset.
  • Experience in career development, student advising, and workshop facilitation.
  • A minimum of 18 months of prior applicable experience in recruitment, marketing, or educational development and support.
  • Experience in career development, workshop facilitation, and student supports.
  • A passion for supporting students.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships across diverse sectors.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Marketing and recruitment skills.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and experiential learning best practices as well as an understanding of the intersection of education, employment skills, and career development.
  • Knowledge of principles of effective teaching and learning strategies, activities and assessment.
