Job summary

RBC in Vancouver is seeking a personable Recruiter for Early Talent Acquisition to lead campus recruitment across Western Canada and attract university students for co-op, summer and new grad roles.

You'll own full-cycle recruitment, build diverse talent pipelines, and partner with university contacts and social media channels to showcase RBC as an employer of choice for student talent. The role emphasizes collaboration, community engagement, and strong candidate experience.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in campus recruitment or finance-related hiring.
  • Strong client service and relationship management.

  • Able to manage high-volume recruitment during peak cycles.
  • Experience using social media for campus recruitment.
  • Experience partnering with hiring managers.

Responsibilities

  • Execute campus recruitment with focus on attracting top talent and building proactive student pipelines for each term.
  • Support full-cycle campus recruitment – identify talent, post requisitions, pre-screen, schedule interviews and manage candidates through offers for co-op, summer and new grad hires.
  • Proactively generate candidate flow through social media, student organizations, college career centers, and other channels.
  • Educate, consult and transfer knowledge of diversity hiring practices to others involved in recruiting.
  • Partner with Senior Manager on Indigenous programmatic hiring.
  • Gather and provide feedback to candidates and hiring managers to determine the best fit.
  • Manage information in Workday & Phenom ATS and keep data current.
  • Develop candidate pipelines by building relationships with university contacts.
  • Foster relationships with students year-round to support hiring initiatives.

Job Description

As a Recruiter, Early Talent Acquisition, you will be the face of RBC in the Western region and execute full cycle recruitment and attract university and college students for front office (regional banking) and Personal Commercial Operations (PCO). This includes proactively identifying diverse talent while partnering with various university and college contacts to build a solid pipeline for co‑op and new grad positions. You will ensure that consistent, high quality on‑campus recruitment and social media best practices are used, reflecting positively on RBC’s competitive position in the marketplace for top student talent, with a focus on the RBC brand.

What will you do?
  • Execute campus recruitment with a focus on attracting top talent and building proactive student pipelines for hiring targets each term.
  • Support full‑cycle campus recruitment – identify and engage talent, post requisitions, pre‑screen, schedule interviews and manage candidates through the interview and offer process for program and non‑program hires (co‑op, summer and new grad).
  • Proactively generate candidate flow through a variety of sourcing channels, including social media, student organizations, college and university career centers etc. and research and initiate other channels as appropriate.
  • Educate, consult and transfer knowledge of diversity hiring practices and interviewing skills to others involved in the recruiting process.
  • Partner with Senior Manager on Indigenous programmatic hiring
  • Gather and provide feedback/recommendations to both the candidate and hiring manager regarding strengths and development needs of the candidate to determine and select the most qualified candidate.
  • Manage information and recruitment process through the Applicant Tracking System (Workday) & Phenom. Ensure that all information is current and activity is updated on a regular basis.
  • Develop candidate pipelines by creating strong relationship strategies with university contacts.
  • Foster relationships with students throughout the year to support hiring initiatives.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
  • 2 years’ experience within campus recruitment or experience within a finance generating platform (e.g. Wealth, Personal Banking)
  • Excellent client service orientation and relationship management skills
  • Strong presentation skills developed through experience delivering presentations to a large audience
  • Innovative, agile with a flexible attitude & event planning capability
  • Ability to manage high volume recruitment coupled with a busy event schedule during peak recruitment cycles
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing social media tools and executing social media strategies for campus recruitment
  • Demonstrated ability at managing and partnering with hiring managers
  • Ability to multi‑task and adapt to changing situations
