Qualifications

  • RTA Certificate is an asset.
  • HCA Certificate is an asset.
  • Heart saver CPR Certification is required.
  • Standard Level First Aid is an asset.
  • Class 4 drivers License is required.
  • Previous experience in a Recreational Therapy setting is an asset.
  • Experience working with Seniors is preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Ability to self-motivate and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a caring, empathetic attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the assessment and planning of therapeutic recreation programs.
  • Participate in new residents’ Recreation Therapy Admission Assessments.
  • Ensure the safe and timely transportation of residents.
  • Assist in identifying residents’ Leisure Lifestyle goals.
  • Provide information to Recreation Therapist for Resident Care Plans.
