A healthcare organization is seeking a Therapy Aide in Grande Prairie, AB, to provide recreation support for residents in a facility. Responsibilities include assisting with therapy protocols, performing client transfers, and supporting clients with daily living activities. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and experience working with the elderly or physically challenged individuals.
Grande Prairie, located in northwest Alberta, is a growing city with over 60,000 residents and serves approximately 260,000 people in the trading area. This position is based in Mackenzie Place and focuses on providing recreation to the residents of a 74‑bed Type B facility.
As a Therapy Aide, you will work independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team, contributing to the effective delivery of rehabilitation services. Your role may include administrative duties such as ordering supplies, booking clients, tracking attendances, inventorying equipment, and preparing/cleaning the treatment area.
Under the direction of a supervising recreation therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, or speech‑language pathologist, you will prepare and/or apply routine interventions, promote client healthy living, and motivate clients to actively participate in assigned therapy protocols or programs. You may assist with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) within the context of the therapy program.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) offers a competitive rate of pay plus a Remote Retention Allowance up to $3,000 annually, non‑pensionable and payable on an hourly basis for all basic rate hours.
