Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Recreation Aide to support the recreation team in providing activities that address physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and cultural needs of residents in our Victoria community.

The role emphasizes one-on-one resident support, program coordination, and collaboration with peers, while ensuring safe operation under the OHSA guidelines and maintaining equipment and setup.

Qualifications

• Experience in a residential care setting is preferred.
• Completion of high school diploma.
• CPR and First Aid is an asset.
• Safe Food Handling Certificate is preferred.
• Valid provincial class 4 driver's license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Engage residents through regular conversation.
• Assist with program coordination and implementation.
• Provide one on one support to residents.
• Observe and report on resident care and services.
• Assist with coordinating volunteers and community resources.
• Collaborate with peers to coordinate activities.
• Manage recreation equipment, including inventory and maintenance concerns.
• Event and activity setup and cleanup.
• Operate in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements.
