Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) seeks a Recreation and Inclusion Supervisor to guide inclusive recreation programs for military families and individuals. You will plan and deliver inclusive programming, coach staff, monitor quality, and maintain communications with families and caregivers.

This on-site role supports the welfare mission and offers opportunities to impact daily well-being through coordinated services and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and several years of experience with children/youth and individuals with disabilities
  • CPR and Standard First Aid certification
  • PHCD Certification (Healthy Child Development)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training an asset
  • Behaviour Management Systems certification an asset
  • ABA/IBI Therapy training an asset

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver inclusive recreation programs and services for individuals and families in the military community.
  • Coach and supervise employees and provide direct support when implementing behaviour management protocols.
  • Monitor program quality and gather and report on program feedback.
  • Maintain consistent communication with participants' families and caregivers; provide regular updates and address concerns.
  • Elevate matters to management when appropriate.

THE ROLE

As Recreation and Inclusion Supervisor, you will guide and deliver inclusive recreation programs and services for individuals and families in the military community. You will expand access for participants with disabilities and support needs ensuring they can meaningfully engage in recreation programming, events and community life.

You will plan and deliver inclusion programming and implement individualized plans for participants with disabilities and support needs. You will coach and supervise employees and provide direct support when implementing behaviour management protocols.You will monitor program quality and gather and report on program feedback.

You will maintain consistent communication with participants’ families and caregivers, providing regular updates on program plans, participant progress, address concerns professionally, and elevate matters to management when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • High School diploma AND several years of experience related to working with children/youth and individuals with disabilities, or a related field
  • AND
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
  • Current High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) Certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, an asset
  • Behavior Management Systems certification, an asset
  • Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)/Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) Therapy training, an asset
Experience
  • In programming and delivering activities
  • In inclusion practices and supports
  • In personnel administration
  • In budget administration
  • In group supervision
  • In applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation
  • In implementing inclusive and adaptive programming and supports
  • In crisis intervention and behaviour management techniques
  • In communicating with families, caregivers, educators, service providers and other community
Competencies
  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
