Qualifications

  • Be enrolled in / completed diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies or gerontology.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation.

Responsibilities

  • Support and embrace a resident-centered social culture with high quality recreational programming.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to understand residents' individual needs.
  • Assist residents in planning and implementing programs contributing to their holistic health.

Responsibilities
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of recreational programing to our residents. You will work as key members of our Village and neighborhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents individual needs and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their care.
  • Recreation Team Members at Schlegel Villages foster exemplary relationships with residents their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care that focusses on flexible living and quality of life.
  • Recreation Team Members assist our residents by the planning and implementing programs that contribute to a residents holistic health care goals as outlined in Care Plans (including RAI MDS-Raps Coding and Activities Initial Assessment) by encouraging physical emotional spiritual social and cognitive growth for residents.
Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in / completed diploma or degree recreation / leisure studies and / or gerontology from a community college or university.
  • Be excited by our objectives our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents families and team members.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individuals health.
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices methods techniques and opportunities to improve residents well-being and holistic health.
