Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Band 2 Receptionist to provide an efficient reception service at New Victoria Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital. The role involves managing patient appointments, ensuring medical records remain confidential, and assisting patients and staff with enquiries. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a busy environment, with full administrative support for the existing reception team.

Job description
Band 2 Receptionist

Hours per week: 37 hours per week.

Location: New Victoria Hospital/Gartnavel General Hospital, Endoscopy Unit. Cross-site cover (GGH VIC and QE) may also be required on occasion.

Responsibilities
  • Support effective clinical care by providing an efficient reception service to patients, general practitioners, medical and nursing staff.
  • Administer and process patient appointments accurately, ensuring patient medical records remain confidential, are securely stored and are available as necessary.
  • Update systems to reflect admissions, DNAs or cancellations accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Scan all procedure reports onto the portal and send copies to GPs.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the reception area at all times.
  • Assist patients, medical and nursing staff with any enquiries.
  • Provide administrative support to the existing full‑time Receptionist for the endoscopy service at all times.
