Position Overview

You will exercise attention to detail and organizational skills to receive, inspect goods and accurately select and prepare components for production. You will fulfill manufacturing floor requirements, pick production orders, and update our electronic inventory management system (SAP) when necessary. You will have the opportunity to assist in material management through management of non-conforming material, troubleshooting material issues and assisting with inventory counts.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately and efficiently receive vendor deliveries by inspecting for damage, confirming material and paperwork (packing slip) against original purchase order and updating ERP (SAP) system accordingly
  • Receive and put away and/or provide raw material and/or semi finished goods from/to SMT production line, subcontractor, cable assembly line and Engineering team
  • Update inventory management systems in Excel and SAP as required
  • Maintain and organize the warehouse by ensuring materials are stored appropriately, and moved to point of use as required possibly using a pallet jack
  • Ensure parts are securely and appropriately wrapped and transported to production
  • Assist in completing inventory and cycle counting and identify and troubleshoot inventory inaccuracies
  • Create product labels in SAP, and label incoming inventory with product labels and WHMIS
  • Receive in SAP all the parts delivered
  • Contact the appropriate person if there are issues with the part or the courier
  • Ensure all required information is with the parts and the correct ones were received compared to PO’s
  • Some parts require incoming inspection, so parts will need to be measured and compared to drawings with assistance from Quality team
  • Assist with shipping during peak times
  • Other duties as required within the context of the role
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year warehouse
Experience
  • Experience in receiving, and/or material handling is an asset
  • Experience using pallet jacks and/or certified forklift is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to reliable personal transportation that can be used for business purposes as the need arises
  • Experience in SAP is an asset
  • Willingness to obtain Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • A clear sense of urgency to achieve results. A “can-do”, “let’s make it happen” attitude and a focus on a positive customer experience
