Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. is seeking a store associate to support health, beauty and convenience services in the local community.

You will merchandise, assist customers and maintain backroom organization to ensure smooth operations and compliance with store standards. The role involves handling merchandise from receiving through to the sales floor, managing perishables, printing and implementing signage, and working flexible shifts that may include nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Merchandises and provides superior customer service.
• Maintains efficient flow of merchandise from receiving to sales floor.
• Organize backroom product and BIMI processes.
• Ensure signage and talkers are printed and used for promotions.
• Be expert in inventory, placement, expiry dates and promotions for assigned areas.
• Receive merchandise from DC, seasonal and DSD deliveries.
• Keep backroom neat and organized and document receiving/returns.
• Support store management in maintaining quality of perishables.
• Assist customers, answer questions about product locations and promotions.
• Follow health, safety, store standards and loss-prevention policies.
• Perform other duties including cash duties as required.

SUMMARY

• Merchandises and provides superior customer service.
• Maintains efficient flow of merchandise from the receiving door to the sales floor.
• Organize backroom product and follow Backroom Inventory Management (BIMI) processes.
• Ensures signage and talkers are printed then take part in execution, including flyers, corporate markdowns, and labels.
• Expert in assigned areas of product inventory, product placement, expiry dates, promotion, etc.

RECEIVING

• Receives merchandise including Distribution Centre, Seasonal, and DSD deliveries
• Maintains a neat and organized backroom according to principles of backroom organization
• Ensures proper documentation is completed with respect to the receiving and return of goods
• Supports Front Store Manager/Assistant Front Store Manager in maintaining the quality and standards associated with perishable items as per the Store Standards

CUSTOMER SERVICE

• Clean image to the customers in accordance with uniform policy and dress code guidelines (eg. approved uniform and name badge, clean appearance)
• Takes initiative to acknowledge and assist customers in the aisles
• Answers inquiries regarding location of product, rainchecks, PC Optimum

GENERAL

• Complies with all health and safety regulations
• Complies with all Store Standards
• Complies with loss prevention policies and procedures and ensures they are executed throughout the store
• Perform other duties as required including Cash duties
