Job summary

Giant Tiger Wholesale in Johnstown, Ontario is seeking a Receiver for day shift to unload goods, verify items against purchase orders, and record data in our warehouse system. This role requires a high school diploma, a valid G2+ license, forklift training, and strong communication.

You will complete three days of paid machine training to obtain in-house certification, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package including retirement support and store discounts.

Qualifications

• High School completion required.
• Class G2 or higher driver’s licence.
• Forklift training program completed.
• Familiar with material handling equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated; ability to work without supervision.
• Basic PC skills; WMOS experience is an asset.
• Onboarding includes paid machine training and in-house certification.

Responsibilities

• Unloading of goods using forklift safely and efficiently.
• Verify items against purchase orders/ASNs for accuracy.
• Report variances and ensure correct quantity and type.
• Enter product information into computer systems.
• Assign active pick locations for new products.
• Apply LPNs and verify quantities per ASN.
• Sign transport documents and note discrepancies.
• Complete non-compliance reports for vendors as needed.

About This Role:

Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a Receiver for our 660,000 square foot distributioncentrein Johnstown, Ontario!

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Unloading of goods in a safe and efficient manner using a counter balance or low lift forklift;
• Verify items received for accuracy against purchase orders (ASNs);
• Report quality variances and ensure accuracy in the type and quantity of received product;
• Enter product information into computer systems;
• Assign active pick locations for new products;
• Apply License Plate Numbers (LPNs) verifying physical quantity of merchandise with quantity indicated on the ASN;
• Clearly sign all transport documentation and indicate any discrepancies;
• Complete non-compliance for vendors who do not follow GTW’s shipping standards.

What You’ll Bring:

• Completion of High School.
• Class G2 or higher driver’s licence
• Successful completion of a forklift training program;
• Familiar with material handling equipment;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Self-motivated; ability to work without direct supervision;
• Experience with or a basic understanding of personal computer is required;
• Voice picking or Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMOS) experience is an asset.
• As part of your onboarding, you willberequiredto complete three days of paid machine training and successfully obtain in-house certification. Successful machine certification is a mandatory condition of employment as it isan occupational requirement.
