Job summary

JLEGAL PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION is seeking a motivated Real Estate Law Clerk to support lawyers in residential and commercial transactions. You will manage files from opening through closing and post-closing, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.

You should have strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple deals simultaneously. Fluency in English and Mandarin is preferred to liaise with diverse client sets.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to independently manage multiple files and deadlines in real estate transactions.
• Professional, dependable, client-service oriented demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
• Experience in residential and/or commercial real estate transactions is preferred.
• Knowledge of Ontario real estate procedures and electronic land registration.
• Experience with Teraview, OnLand, title insurance platforms, and real estate software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Review Agreements of Purchase and Sale, mortgage instructions, and other transaction documents.
• Prepare closing documents and related documentation.
• Conduct title, execution, and other searches and assist with due diligence.
• Coordinate transaction requirements and communicate with clients, lawyers, lenders, real estate agents, and other parties.
• Monitor transaction deadlines and follow up on outstanding documents, undertakings, registrations, and discharges.
• Maintain accurate and organized transaction files and records.
• Identify transaction or title issues and bring them to the supervising lawyer's attention.
• Perform other real estate transaction and administrative duties as required.
