Job summary

Surrey Independent Living Charity in Farnham is seeking a Caring Support Worker for a young person with Learning Disabilities. The role offers term-time weekend hours (Saturday or Sunday 11am–2pm) and holiday hours, with flexibility to plan visits and support outings.

You will help Sofia attend social events, go for walks, shop, and enjoy activities at home, providing patient, warm, one-to-one support and building a positive relationship. Driving may be required; mileage reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Patient, warm and able to offer gentle support to help Sofia make the most of her time.
• Willingness to drive for work; mileage reimbursed at 55p/mile.

Job description

Caring Support Worker Required for Young Person (Learning Disabilities) (Ref 009352)

Term-time: Saturday or Sunday, 11am–2pm (3 hours per week)

School holidays: Any two days agreed by both parties, 11am–2pm (6 hours per week total)

There is some flexibility, and we’re happy to work with the right PA to plan visits.

Sofia is a bubbly, funny and sociable young person who enjoys getting out and about as well as spending time at home. The role involves supporting her to attend social events and outings, go for walks or bike rides, shopping, as well as enjoying relaxed activities at home such as playing games, baking and preparing meals together.

Sofia benefits from a PA who is patient, warm and able to offer gentle support to help her make the most of her time and interests.

We would prefer someone who is willing to drive for work. If your vehicle is used, we will reimburse at 55p/mile.
