Job summary

Environics Analytics in Toronto is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer with strong front-end skills and an interest in full-stack development. You will help build and enhance our web-based analytics and mapping platform used by customers across North America.

You'll work on modern React application, collaborate with backend developers and product team, and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle from design through deployment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building production applications with React.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience building reusable component-based user interfaces.
• Experience consuming and troubleshooting REST APIs.
• Experience working with application state management patterns.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and accessibility fundamentals.
• Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment, including pull requests, branching strategies, and code reviews.
• Experience writing automated tests.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable UI components.
• Integrate with REST APIs and backend services.
• Work with large datasets, interactive visualizations, and mapping applications.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA and Engineering teams to deliver customer value.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and help improve application reliability and performance.
• Write automated unit and integration tests.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in engineering practices, tooling, and development processes.
• Participate in the development of backend APIs and services where appropriate.
