Job summary

Air Canada in Vancouver, BC is hiring Ramp Agents to join a dynamic ground crew. This onsite role involves onload/offload of aircraft, baggage handling, and coordinating with the team to ensure safe, on-time operations. You may perform varied tasks on the tarmac and in baggage areas and begin with a fully paid nine to ten week training program.

No prior airline experience is required. The job demands physical fitness, ability to lift 70 lbs, a valid driver's license to operate heavy equipment,

• Eligibility to work in Canada and pass medical and drug/alcohol tests.
• Willingness to complete a full-time paid training program (9–10 weeks).

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada (Onsite)

Starting Salary: $23.36/ hour - Up to $38.15 after 8 years of continuous service as outlined in the applicable Collective Agreement

Shift premiums: Afternoon - $1.00 for each hour worked between 18:00 and 23:00. Midnight - $1.50 for each hour worked between 23:00 and 6:00.

What will you do today?

As a dynamic team member, you collaborate with your crew to efficiently onload and offload aircraft, ensuring safe and on-time performance. You may find yourself working functions that include baggage, connecting passenger's bags or right out on the tarmac performing a symphony of tasks leading to a successful operation.

At our workplace, teamwork is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our fleet. This physically demanding role involves active movement both on the airside and in the baggage room. Since our operations run year-round, you must be ready to work in all weather conditions.

To Join Us, You Must Have

• A valid driver’s license – driving heavy equipment on the airside will be required
• Ability to lift 70lbs repetitively
• To pass a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test
• Availability to attend and successfully pass a nine (9) to ten (10) weeks full-time paid training program
• Availability to work rotating shift patterns over a 24-hour period (including weekends and holidays)
• Safety and security conscious
• Strong communication and ability to work in a team on a daily basis
• Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations. Please refer to Transport Canada site for more details
