Job summary

Come work with Cameco Corporation at the McArthur River mine site. The role involves assisting in operating raisebore and longhole drills and related equipment, with emphasis on safety and efficient setup, teardown, and placements of drilling gear.

Ideal candidates have underground experience, strong organization and communication skills, and are comfortable with a rotational schedule including site commutes by aircraft. A minimum Grade 12 education is required.

Qualifications

McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The Role

In this role, you will:

• Assist in operating raisebore and longhole drills and all associated equipment.
• Assist in the moving, set-up, teardown, and placements of raisebore/longhole drilling equipment and drills.
• Assist in the installation and removal of bits and reamers.

Required:

• minimum grade twelve education or equivalent;
• previous work as a driller’s helper in a mining environment;
• minimum of two years underground work experience;
• strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills;
• work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.

Recommended:

• experience with raisebore or longhole drills;
• experience in longhole drilling and blasting; and
• ability to operate small pieces of equipment (skid steer).

Conditions of Employment

• pre-employment substance test.

Rate per hour: $57.37

Preference will be given to qualified internal applicants and Residents of Saskatchewan's North.
