Job summary

CN is seeking an entry-level front line supervisor to manage day-to-day train operations in a 24/7 environment in Canada. The role involves learning the territory, supervising unionized crews, and ensuring departures and service are safe and compliant with CN rules.

Responsibilities include safety orientation, coaching staff, maintaining performance targets, and coordinating with Transportation leadership. The position offers growth, bonus eligibility, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 4 years of supervisory experience in a safety-conscious environment.
• 3 years of experience on railroad as conductor or equivalent.
• Eligible for Certification as Conductor or Locomotive Engineer is an asset.
• High School Diploma and valid Driver's Licence required.
• Strong leadership, coaching and safety culture skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet service commitments by managing day-to-day operations in a territory or terminal.
• Coach unionized staff and ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Monitor safety, incidents and performance against plans.
• Coordinate with managers on asset utilization and cost controls.
• Oversee crew scheduling, deadheads, recrews and labour utilization.
• Lead investigations and drive continuous process improvements.
