Job summary

Cando Rail & Terminals Ltd. in Canada seeks a Switchpersons/Trackmobile Operator to safely switch rail cars at customer sites and terminals. You’ll work in a team, support efficient operations, and uphold a strong safety culture with fixed schedules.

Responsibilities include operating switches, inspecting locomotives, completing logs, and adhering to switching rules. The role requires physical fitness and the ability to work up to 12 hours per shift, day or night.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work up to 12 hours per shift in all weather.
• Ability to obtain safety critical medical clearances and drug/alcohol screening.
• Previous rail experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate switches and derails and perform locomotives procedures safely.
• Complete daily reports, logs, and necessary documents.
• Perform daily locomotive inspections and check safety devices.
• Provide excellent customer service and support operations on site.
• Adhere to CROR Non-Main Track rules and switching procedures.
• Report safety, equipment, and track issues promptly.
