Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Is​​land Health) is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographs in a computerized environment. You will apply radiation safety principles, work independently or with a radiologist, and complete documentation while ensuring patient and staff safety.

Education requirements include CAMRT certification and graduation from an approved radiology program with CAMRT eligibility.

Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority(Island Health), patient & staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

The Radiological Technologist works in a computerized environment, producing diagnostic radiographs as assigned and carrying out diagnostic procedures either independently or in collaboration with a radiologist or other physician; applies radiation safety principles and practices to protect patients, staff, and the general public; and completes required documentation and administrative tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience

Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist. Graduation from an approved radiology technology program. Eligible for membership in the CAMRT.
