Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, SE or related field.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack skills: backend (Python/Go/Java) and frontend (TypeScript/React).
• Experience designing APIs, relational DBs, and data pipelines.
• Production apps powered by LLMs, including prompt engineering and iteration.
• Excellent communication skills with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving ability in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications end-to-end for investment workflows.
• Prototype tools leveraging LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, LangChain).
• Engineer robust backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations.
• Experiment with agentic workflows, function calling, and model composition.
• Create reusable platform components and developer tooling.

The Role

We are seeking an AI Product Engineer with a passion for building AI‑native applications, designing and shipping tools from 0-1, and turning ideas into production‑ready systems. This is a unique opportunity to join Radical and own high‑impact projects end-to-end. While this role spans the full stack, there is a particular emphasis on building robust backend systems, data infrastructure, and the engineering foundations that power AI‑native products.

You will design and deploy tools that:

• Provide insights into portfolio and market dynamics

• Enhance sourcing, diligence, and investment decision‑making

• Automate workflows and create intelligent systems that improve operational leverage

This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial engineer, who thrives in fast‑paced environments, and enjoys designing, building, and shipping AI‑native products end‑to‑end. You’ll be equally comfortable building polished user experiences and designing scalable backend systems, data infrastructure, and AI‑powered services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI‑powered applications end‑to‑end to support investment workflows and internal operations

• Prototype and refine tools leveraging LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, LangChain)

• Design and engineer robust backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations across internal and external data sources

• Experiment with advanced LLM application patterns, including agentic workflows, function calling, model composition, and evaluation frameworks

• Build reusable platform components, developer tooling, and infrastructure that accelerate product development across the team

• Collaborate with investment and operations teams to translate business needs into scalable software solutions

• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested, and well‑documented code while ensuring security, reliability, and performance

• Champion engineering quality through testing, observability, thoughtful system design, and code reviews

Stay current on emerging AI technologies and bring fresh insights to the firm

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems

• Strong full‑stack engineering skills, with particular strength in backend development (Python, Java, Go, or similar) and experience building modern web applications (TypeScript, React, or similar)

• Experience designing APIs, working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server), and building data pipelines

• Experience building production applications powered by LLMs, including prompt engineering, evaluation, and iterative improvement

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non‑technical stakeholders

• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in an unstructured, fast‑moving environment

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or modern cloud infrastructure
