Job summary

Myant Health is seeking an R&D Biomedical Engineer to advance wearable medical devices, integrating textile computing with biosignal sensing. You will prototype, test, and iterate across the full development lifecycle in a hands-on role.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in electromechanical or wearable device development, strong CAD and data analysis skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset to drive robust medical technology solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (PhD asset).
  • 2+ years developing electromechanical, wearable, or medical devices across lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience from concept to verification/validation and ideally manufacturing transfer.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Onshape, CATIA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with medical device development standards (ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601).
  • Strong ability to analyze experimental/sensor data and derive design decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop wearable electromechanical medical devices, including enclosures, docks, connectors, and textile-integrated hardware.
  • Integrate biosignal sensing technologies (ECG, EMG, PPG, IMU, EEG, bioimpedance, pressure) into wearable form factors.
  • Translate requirements into practical designs, prototypes, and test methods.
  • Build and iterate prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and lab fabrication.
  • Develop test fixtures and setups for mechanical, electrical, environmental, and durability testing.
  • Plan, execute V&V protocols and safety testing (electrical and mechanical).
  • Support product development per ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601.
  • Contribute to design controls, risk assessments, DHF documentation, and traceability.
  • Analyze experimental data with MATLAB/Python to guide design decisions.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, textile, clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support design transfer and manufacturing readiness with contract manufacturers.
