Job summary

Photonic Inc. is seeking a Quantum Engineer in British Columbia, Canada (Hybrid) to drive T centre qubits to the highest quality at scale. You will design rapid technical projects and collaborate with product engineers across device physics to compilers, accelerating progress and de-risking systems.

You will collect high-quality data, synthesize models into system requirements, and adapt in a fast-paced R&D environment, with relocation support and base compensation in a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Experimental Quantum Information, Physics, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience
• Exceptional experimental and technical instincts and judgement
• Deep familiarity with one or more quantum computing platforms (ion traps, neutral atoms, defect centres, solid-state spins, superconducting qubits)
• Experience driving multi-qubit systems at high fidelity
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in the Greater Vancouver Area with relocation sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Drive T centre qubits to the highest possible quality at scale by designing and executing rapid technical projects
• Guide feedback with Photonic nanofabrication, hardware, software, and modelling teams to accelerate progress
• Collect high quality data efficiently to answer fundamental technical questions
• Create multiple backup plans for execution and alternative paths to success
• Synthesize data and models into actionable system requirements
