Job summary

Eaton Corporation seeks a Quantity Surveyor to support profitable product sales within Engineering Services. You will develop bills of materials, perform take-offs, and back project bids for B-Line products including cable tray, framing, and seismic systems.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on bid prep, documentation, and technical activities, ensuring cost-effective solutions and accurate project records.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in electrical and/or mechanical product estimation or quantity surveying.
  • Knowledge of MEPF systems and non-structural supports, including seismic bracing.
  • Experience supporting projects in Oil & Gas, Power, Mining, Data Center, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and estimation tools.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with cross-functional teams.

What you’ll do:

The Quantity Surveyor supports the profitable growth of product sales as a member of the Engineering Services team. This role is responsible for providing bill of materials development, product take-offs, and project support for B-Line products, including cable tray, bolted framing, and seismic systems.

The position collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to support bid preparation, proposal development, project documentation, product presentations, and technical project activities. The Quantity Surveyor also assists in delivering cost-effective solutions, maintaining accurate project documentation, and supporting issue resolution to help ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Support B-Line MEPF structural support products by coordinating technical and project-related activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare accurate bill of materials, material take-offs, and product quantity estimates for cable tray, bolted framing, seismic, and related product systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of project requirements and material take-offs.
  • Perform project support activities, including material and engineering service take-offs, quotation support, scope document preparation, drawing layouts, submittal development, release schedules, and post-order documentation.
  • Partner with customers and sales teams to develop cost-effective solutions that meet project requirements and business objectives.
  • Identify, communicate, and help resolve potential or existing project issues by recommending alternative solutions and supporting project completion efforts.
  • Provide technical assistance and serve as a point of contact for project coordination, customer inquiries, and project status updates.
  • Support the preparation and management of proposals, bid documents, project documentation, and other engineering-related deliverables.
  • Assist with product demonstrations, customer support activities, and field issue resolution as required.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation in accordance with company processes and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in electrical and/or mechanical product estimation, quantity surveying, construction, engineering support, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of MEPF systems and non-structural component supports, including seismic bracing applications.
  • Experience supporting projects within the Oil & Gas, Power, Mining, Data Center, heavy industrial, or similar sectors.
  • Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards, including NEC, IEC, NEMA, ASME, CSA, NFPA, IBC, CBC, UL, FM, and other relevant standards.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and project documentation requirements, including submittal drawings, production drawings, test reports, and certifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other relevant estimation, design, and documentation tools.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of construction methodologies, engineering drawings, and project execution processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and build positive working relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn new concepts, systems, and technologies and apply them in a practical business environment.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to identify and recommend effective solutions to project challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, depending on project and team requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within established timelines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.
