About the Role

We are seeking a Quantitative Risk Analyst to join our cleantech AI startup and play a pivotal role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating financial and operational risks associated with our AI‑driven clean energy solutions. You will leverage advanced quantitative methods, data analytics, and financial modeling to assess risk exposures in renewable energy projects, AI deployments, and new market opportunities. As part of a fast‑paced, mission‑driven team, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure robust risk management practices underpin our growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quantitative risk models to assess financial, operational, and market risks related to clean energy and AI projects.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks in project performance, energy markets, and AI model outputs.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate the impact of various risk factors, including energy price volatility, technology performance, and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, product, commercial) to align risk management strategies with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators, developing dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Support the evaluation and pricing of structured transactions, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other commercial arrangements.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, regulatory developments, and advances in AI and renewable energy risk management.
What we look for
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related).
  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative risk analysis in financial or energy markets.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB; experience with statistical software and data visualization tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience developing and validating quantitative risk models.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, renewable energy technologies, and risk management principles (e.g., VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex quantitative findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and innovative environment.

Nice to Have

  • CFA
  • Experience with energy market modeling, PPAs, or structured product pricing.
  • Understanding of renewable generation technologies (solar, wind, battery storage) and related risk factors
